Officer Wilson not indicted in killing of Michael Brown

after a thorough investigation and weighing of the evidence the grand jury has decided not to indict the officer.. the reaction so far seems as predicted - people refuse to accept that the result represents justice despite claims that is what they wanted.. there is now violence and vandalism, including gunshots.

let's hope the police contain the troublemakers.. .

My summary of what is going on at the Ferguson event:

-- I see ignorant people acting like ignorant people. That's about it.

My recommendation for those displeased by the Ferguson grand jury:

-- Register to vote and then use your registration.

Between voting opportunities I recommend focusing on education and productive work, whether it be for profit or charity.

Now we return to the regularly expected mayhem of ignorant people engaged in nonproductive drama. Right now it appears they're burning and robbing their own neighborhood. I guess we know now why the governer called up the guard.

it's likely that the grand jury verdict on the michael brown incident will be released in the coming days or weeks.. i've no doubt many people are going to feel strongly about things whatever the verdict is.. whatever the outcome though, here's what's not going to happen:.

we're not going to put up with inflamatory language and comments designed to rile others up.

be respectful.. we will not allow accusations of racism simply because some have a view of the verdict that contradicts others.. there will not be invented evidence or claims being repeated - if it's been falsely reported or debunked then it's off limits.. it's not going to be an opportunity for people to air past gripes over past discussions.. if you feel that you cannot discuss the subject in a rational way then it may be better to simply avoid any topics on the matter.. please try to be objective and respectful if you do decide to comment and not keen to take offense.

Main thing to do if pulled over by a traffic cop in the USA:

- KEEP YOUR HANDS IN PLAIN SIGHT for the patrol officer to see at all times!!!

If you have to dig around in the car looking for something LET THE COP KNOW BEFORE REACHING.

Don't forget the cop wants to get home alive too!

it used to bother me that people would say that about my well meaning religion.

how do you prove that witnesses are indeed, false prophets?.

If you ask any JW what prophecies the WTS has made / got right then they will invariable say something about predicting 1914.

And that's a real piece of irony because THE ONE THING so many JWs think Watchtower got right is one of the biggest failed predictions of all.

Watchtower PREDICTED that armageddon would culminate in 1914. But guess what? Didn't happen. End of story. 1914 stands as one of Watchtower's all time biggest failed predictions.

"Label it however you want, the fact is the Watchtower organization has repeatedly predicted specific world shaking events and those predictions turned out false."

Oh, and when SOMEONE ELSE does this the Watchtower organizations calls it "hollow prophecy"

Thanks for sharing that video. I've seen things like that before. That policeman made so many mistakes, beginning with his way-too-fast approach to the driver he'd just pulled over. Way too fast of an approach!

In this case the traffic stop was over a seatbelt violation. And the driver ends up getting shot. And the driver's crime worth getting shot over was? Doing precisely what the policeman told him to do.

Hope that former police officer never again holds authority in law enforcement, and I hope he never is permitted to carry a concealed weapon.

This thing about j-moseying down the middle of the road is something I've often noticed. When there's automotive traffic on the street it's dangerous, it's rude, it's annoying, and it's needless. It's almost as though it's done to intentionally annoy drivers who'd otherwise be perfectly content to slow down and/or wait for a person to walk across the street who is using at least a normal speed gait.

Then there's those j-walkers who do the same thing crossing the street.

Am I the only one who sees these?

I can definitely believe a traffic cop seeing one of these j-moseying-walkers would take time to direct the walkers to the sidewalk! That's where they belong! That's no stretch at all to me.

Skeeter, I started to comment as you do earlier today. Citizens should get out and vote for representation of their liking. Instead so many Americans have become lethargic when it comes to issues that need a political solution. As things stand we end up vilifying participants in a microcosm of a much larger society rather then fixing the problem. Citizens could get in front of these issues if they wanted to by a little ole thing known as VOTING. But they don’t, which is a big issue all by itself!

Right now I’m readying myself for the next barrage of self-serving political activists preachermen to hit the stage passing the plate one more time.

... in theory it's a loop with power returning to people at the bottom to control the process through elections, public hearings etc...

The single biggest mistake I see in Ferguson is a disproportionate level of black participation as voters. Several years ago there was a tremendous influx into the area because of housing redistribution, reportedly with no proportionate change in voter demographics.

Hopefully recent events will awaken this civic duty so more in the whole community rise to the occasion to have more say in how government that touches their lives will be run.
